Welcome Center Specialist -- JBER:
The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson location has a full-time opening for a Welcome Center Specialist at 40 hours per week. We are looking for a person with a flexible schedule who can work with little supervision, has great customer service and computer skills, food handling knowledge, and likes diversity.
The Welcome Center Specialist position requires a detail-oriented person to maintain inventory and log sheets, answer phones, learn all programs of the ASYMCA, staff the Welcome Center & GI Java, provide great customer service, and assist with ASYMCA programming.
Position qualifications are:
• Must be customer service oriented with good phone and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess computer skills and ability to type proficiently.
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
• Must have a valid Alaska Drivers License and a clean driving abstract.
• Experience with military lifestyles preferred.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires heavy lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• May occasionally be expected to work at special events outside normal working hours, including some weekends.
This position is full time hourly/non-exempt. Position hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, for a total of 40 hours per week.
